NGC-5965 Galaxy Group
NGC-5965 Galaxy Group
The NGC-5965 galaxy group is located in Draco. It is anchored by the intermediate spiral galaxy NGC-5965, which lies at a distance of 150 million light years from Earth. This galaxy is over 250,000 light years in diameter, and even at this extreme distance is an impressive sight. The other members of the group are
NGC-5963, to the northwest (upper left). 5963 lies at a distance of 88 million light years and is 13th magnitude. To the northeast of 5963, (upper right) is the small spiral NGC-5969, and to its right is the larger spiral NGC-5971. NGC-5969 is more distant, at 427 million light years. NGC-5971 is 198 million light years distant.
